1941 - 2021

Larry Savoie passed away on Thursday, October 21, 2021.

Larry grew up in Villeneuve where he later helped his dad run the Shell gas station the family owned.  He

never tired telling stories about his childhood friends and adventures in the little community.

In 1970, Larry married Marlene, “his sweetheart”.  They settled in St. Albert where Larry started his own

trucking business which he ran until his retirement in 2006, and where he and Marlene raised their

three children: Kimberly (Mark), Todd, and Greg (Gina).

Larry was a wonderful husband and father and always supportive of his family’s interests, sports, and

hobbies.  He was an incredible grandpa to all of the grandchildren: Cayden (Lea), Gage, Mikerline,

Ethan, and Thea.  Todd’s dog Maggie was always affectionately referred to as “the other

granddaughter”, as she was very special to him.

Larry enjoyed camping, family reunions, “happy hour”, and playing cards with his friends.  He was a

great story teller!

Larry was predeceased by his parents Laura and Ed Savoie. He is survived by his wife Marlene, his children and grandchildren, and his sisters: Judy, Barbara, Connie, and Maureen as well as by his Aunt Jean, Uncle Jack, nieces and nephews, and many cousins and friends. He will be so sadly missed.

Sincere thanks to our home care providers this past year, especially Terrisita, and the doctors and nurses at the Royal Alexandra Hospital who provided such care and compassion.
