August 18, 1960 – May 23, 2020
After a short but valiant struggle with multiple myeloma, Scott passed away on May 23, 2020.
Left to mourn are his beloved Diane; son, Justin (mother, Laurie); parents, Marilyn and Charlie Schroder; siblings, Geoffrey and his children, Ava, Anika, and Ashton, Pamela (Harry) Kipnes, and Penny (Chad) Wall and their children, Amanda, Emily, and Kelsey. Also left to mourn are Diane’s family; son, Eric; daughter, Krista (Rob) and their children, Kyle and Ryan. Scott will also be missed by his many other relatives and friends.
Scott worked as a financial advisor for the Principal Group, as a computer analysist at the University of Alberta, and for the past 27 years with Altec Ltd., a construction firm specializing in housing and commercial renovation. He and his partner John Sissons were well liked by their clients, judging by the number of times their clients requested additional work. Scott was an avid environmentalist and loved refinishing, recycling, and reusing. He took great pride in building three cabins on his recreational property with 99 % reused materials.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
