Jacob Alex Stang, a loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away suddenly on November 16, 2020 at the age of 83 in the comfort of his own home.
Jacob, known by all of his loved ones as Jack, is survived by his children Darrell (Shely), Gary (Janice), Connie (Bill), his grandchildren Jill (Dustin), Kylie (Simon), Derek (Kelly), Melanie (Spencer), Shawn, Jane (Ben) and great grandchildren Amelia, Bensen, Hayden and Laney.
Jack was born in Macklin, Saskatchewan on December 22, 1936 to Michael Stang and Emilia Haag. Jack lived a fulfilling life working on the DEW Line then moving on to work at Crown Zellerbach. Jack finished his career at Alberta Brewers Association (ABA) which later became Brewers Distributors, where he ultimately retired at the age of 60. His main passion in life was his family. From Sunday morning pancakes while watching NFL Football, which would continue into late night Chinese food delivery. His unconditional love for his great grandchildren, which on occasion resulted with him getting peed on because he loved them too much to let go. His never-ending great stash of mini chocolate bars that would be readily available for us at every visit. His caring interest in our hobbies from collecting coins, knife making, and our love for our pets. Most of all, his selfless ability to always be there for us whenever we needed him. There are not enough words in the English dictionary to describe how great of a man Jack really was, and always will be. We cannot wait to meet you again at the white pearly gates of Heaven with your extra-large Tim Horton’s coffee with two cream in hand.
A Celebration of Jack’s life will take place at a later date.
