STOBBS, Thomas Michael

Posted

It is with profound sadness the family announce the passing of Thomas Michael Stobbs at the age of 82, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

Tom is survived by his wife Mary Louise, his sons Derek of Vancouver, BC, Terry of Spruce Grove and their families, as well as sister Lynne McDougald of Dawson Creek and other relatives.

Tom grew up on a farm near Maple Ridge, BC but a thirst for adventure saw him join the RCAF in 1957 where he flew a variety of aircraft, ending his military career flying Twin Otters at CFB Edmonton. He then joined Nav Canada as a pilot before his final retirement in 2002.

As per his wishes there will be no funeral services and cremation has taken place. His ashes will be scattered at a special location on the Fraser River where he loved to swim and fish as a boy.

Those wishing to make a tribute to Tom’s memory can donate to foundation.stars.ca
