Colour of the bag shouldn't matter

The recycle truck driver put a large sticker on my clear bag. I rushed out to read it as he proceeded to the corner and turned around to pick up the opposite side of my crescent.

I grabbed the bag and met him across the street.

"Sorry boss, the city wants blue bags only; but I'll take it this time."

By the look on my face, he thought he might get my bag in the cab of the truck. He pitched it into the container.

Maybe with 10,000 bags per week, the city could sell blue bags and pay off some deficit on Servus Place. The city sells rain barrels every summer.

An alternative would be to issue free stickers to any confused taxpayers (and councillors) that read "This is a blue bag," an idea from Wal-Mart who sell black cloth bags for shopping that read, “This is a green bag."

As a Gazette commentary writer says, "Or is it just me?"
