Friendly drivers make transit worthwhile

I moved to St. Albert just over a year ago to live with my dad to save money while I go to school. The one thing I was worried about most about moving from Edmonton to St. Albert was the transit system.

I moved to St. Albert just over a year ago to live with my dad to save money while I go to school.

The one thing I was worried about most about moving from Edmonton to St. Albert was the transit system. In Edmonton, you could catch a bus every 15 minutes it seemed, and I was worried about moving to a smaller city where transit may not be as accommodating. I couldn’t have been more wrong.

The St. Albert transit system is simply amazing. All the problems I expected to have dealing with a smaller transit system didn’t even exist. I could go on about how reliable the buses here are for days, but the one thing that really stands out for me about transit in St. Albert is the friendliness of the bus drivers. They actually smile when I get on the bus. They know quite a few of their customers by their names. They are always talking and laughing with passengers and it seems like a lot of St. Albert knows them by their names as well. They are personal and kind. Even though in Edmonton bus service is always rapid, the bus drivers often greet you with a scowl when you come on the bus. It’s hard to imagine any of them actually like their jobs. But in St. Albert, the bus drivers seem to go out of their way to make sure each one of their passengers is satisfied and having a good day.

I think I can speak on behalf of St. Albert when I say thank you to all of the St. Albert bus drivers for making travel a pleasurable experience. I would take the superb service you all offer over the convenience of big city transit any day.
