AGRICULTURAL LAND

DEPARTMENT OF NATIONAL DEFENCE (DND)

RIVERBEND RECEIVER SITE

Tenders are invited for DND land known as Riverbend Receiver Site, consisting of approximately 127 Acres, which excludes the footprint area of the antennae situated on the land. The land is being offered for a ten (10) year Term commencing 1 April 2024.

The land is to be used solely for agricultural purposes in accordance with accepted principles of soil conservation, and no other purpose. Sod farming is specifically disallowed.  The use of the land may be rescinded if the land or any part is required for military purposes.

The successful bidder will be responsible for all land taxes.  Estimated cost of taxes can be obtained from the appropriate Municipal Assessment Office.

Those wishing to submit a tender must rely on their own inspection of the land and not on representations made in this advertisement or made by others. Questions may be directed to the Property Office @ 587-337-8865.

The highest, or any tender may not necessarily be accepted.  As DND is bound by Treasury Board legislation requiring market value be applied to federal land use, a market assessment report was conducted in June of 2023.
