After a brief intermission for renovations, Famoso Italian Pizzeria is reopening its doors at 11 Bellerose Dr #39 in St. Albert, nestled right beside Safeway off the St Albert Trail. The newly refurbished space presents a modern and welcoming ambiance, with a fresh twist on the brand by introducing Famoso Pronto.
Opening its doors on November 29, 2023, Famoso Pronto represents an evolution designed to deliver speedier service and greater convenience. This revitalised concept maintains the charm of the original Famoso experience – delicious food, warm hospitality, and a relaxed atmosphere – while offering an expanded menu that caters to diverse dining needs.
The first Famoso outlet made its debut in Edmonton in 2007, quickly earning a reputation for its authentic Neapolitan pizza, a consistent crowd-pleaser that has garnered numerous accolades. Famoso’s dedication to authenticity is evident in its use of imported Italian bell ovens, fresh, premium ingredients, and unaltered traditional pizza-making techniques passed down through generations.
The new Famoso Pronto continues the tradition of serving customer favourites like its award-winning Neapolitan Pizzas, traditional pasta recipes, Italian-style sandwiches, tapas, and signature salads. Additionally, it introduces an exciting selection of extra large, extra thick 16” New World pizzas, perfect for large groups and loaded with toppings. All this, coupled with a curated selection of wines, beers, and Italian-inspired desserts like traditional house-made Tiramisu, cheesecake, and artisan gelato, ensures a dining experience that is both familiar and fresh.
One of the most distinctive features of Famoso Pronto is a takeout counter designed to seamlessly integrate with the restaurant space, elevating the takeout experience to new heights. This feature, along with fast express takeout, online ordering, and delivery services, ensures that residents and workers in the St Albert area can enjoy their favourite Famoso dishes from the comfort of their homes.
Owner, Vikas Patal, who also runs the Ricky’s Restaurant in St. Albert, has been operating in the restaurant business for years and he shares his excitement about opening the new Famoso, “With this opening, we have dining options available to our guests yearning for a true Italian flavour,” he says, adding that “the stylish, casual pizzeria embodies the look of old-school Italy with a modern flair and is a perfect place for sharing with the community.”
