A Kinsmen Club member with decades of involvement with the Rainmaker under his belt described how the event has evolved from an initiative of dedicated volunteers to the largest event in St. Albert.

“We have infrastructure already in place,” said Amit Kumar, professor at the University of Alberta and Alberta Innovates Associate industrial research chair in energy and environmental systems engineering.

Bill Fletcher — who is ready for his family to put down roots in St. Albert — said he is "genuinely humbled" by the opportunity to serve the community.

On May 6, somebody wore a costume rabbit head and held a sign telling people they "look fine" as they drove past a billboard on St. Albert Trail.

Mind Matters started in the fall and has been promoting different mental-health days and months throughout the year, said Laurie McCurdy, a counsellor at SACHS.
