The St. Albert Crime Stoppers Association is asking for assistance in solving the following crimes:

Mischief causes damage

Between Jan. 19 and 20, unknown person(s) entered the shack at the Salisbury rink and discharged the fire extinguisher, which damaged the furnaces. Before leaving the area, the unknown person(s) turned on the water hose used at the hockey rink, which caused water damage to a resident's property.

In the past, the parking lot at the Salisbury rink has been flooded by unknown person(s) as well.

Thefts from vehicles

Between the later hours of Jan. 18 and the early morning hours of Jan. 19, unknown person(s) entered several unlocked vehicles in the Heritage Lakes and Grandin areas of St. Albert. The unknown person(s) stole wallets, credit cards, money, identification, stereo equipment and other personal items from the vehicles.

St. Albert RCMP reminds residents to always secure their vehicles and never leave any valuables, electronics, identification and/or garage door openers inside while unattended.

Theft of copper wire

Sometime between Jan. 7 and the early morning of Jan. 9, an unknown person(s) broke into a building under construction at 315 Carleton Dr. The unknown person(s) stole copper wire from the job site, valued at approximately $1000.

Found money

On Tuesday, Nov. 8, an honest St. Albert resident turned in an undisclosed amount of cash to the RCMP detachment. At approximately 1:30 p.m. on that same date, she had found the money lying on the ground in the parking lot of the Tim Hortons at 2 Hebert Rd. This money was packaged in a unique manner that the RCMP believe could be described by the owner. A check by the RCMP with Tim Hortons’ staff failed to identify anyone who had reported this lost money.

St. Albert RCMP is hoping the owner of the money will contact the detachment at 780-458-7700. If the person can describe the packaging and the amount of money to the detachment, this money could be returned to its rightful owner. If the money cannot be properly identified, it will be turned over to the honest citizen who found it.
