What do you envision for the future of St. Albert?

Do you want it to remain a haven for large single-family dwelling lots. Do you want more density? Do you see a mix?

Is St. Albert a vital part of the Edmonton capital region? Is the city’s growth being managed with other communities and their plans in mind, or does St. Albert’s vision stop at its civic boundaries?

When it comes time to make decisions at council on planning items and policy, what council’s really doing is setting up this community’s future. The decisions made by the council candidates who are hoping to join could easily reverberate decades down the road.

With that in mind, our final question for candidates before St. Albertans vote on June 24 was about the future of this city.

Question:

What is your vision for the future of St. Albert?

Answers:

St. Albert will continue to thrive as a vibrant, all-inclusive community. The heart of the city is a hub; vibrant and energetic with small restaurants, shopping, and citizens coming together. Neighbourhood communities are self-sufficient with sustainable nearby work, recreation and sports facilities, parks, schools, restaurants, medical clinics, and small shops. All municipalities will collaborate fluidly with each other. City council will function cohesively and transparently with fiscal and growth policies that are responsible and clearly defined.
