The first-place St. Albert Impact premier men are unbeaten in 14 matches in the Edmonton District Soccer Association with two remaining in league play.
Thursday the Impact play AS Roma at 7 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
The Impact are winners of five in a row and the team’s record is 11 wins, four ties and a 3-0 loss to Juventus Scona on May 1.
AC Milan is second with a game in hand at 10 wins, two ties and three losses.
The Impact and AC Milan close out league play Aug. 14 at 7 p.m. at the ESA Complex.
The St. Albert Rugby Football Club celebrates the re-opening of its fields during Saturday’s premier men’s match against the Calgary Saints at 4 p.m.
The return of rugby to the Riel Recreation Park facility marks the completion of the reclamation work and outdoor facility enhancement projects that started in August of 2012.
In the Alberta Cup table the firsts are 7-1 and the Saints are 5-3.

The Miners host game two in the best-of-five series at 4 p.m. Saturday at Akinsdale Arena.
Game three is 4 p.m. Sunday at Stu Peppard Arena in Calgary.
If needed, game four is Aug. 16 at 4 p.m. in Calgary and game five is Aug. 17 at 4 p.m. at Stu Barnes Arena.
The winner will represent Alberta at the Presidents’ Cup national championship, Aug. 25 to 29 at Coquitlam, B.C.
The Miners are 20-0 overall after winning game one 12-2 last weekend in St. Albert.
The first of six goals by the Miners in the opening period was scored by captain Nate Schmidt off a pass from netminder Dave Marrese at the 5:22 mark.
Schmidt led all scorers with two goals and three assists.
Graedon Cornfield fired three goals and added one helper, Josh Sullivan and Jarett Toll tallied twice and Sean Reid, Chris Schmidt and Jordan Cornfield notched singles.
The Mountaineers struck twice in the second frame. It was 7-2 after 40 minutes.
Last year’s provincial champions and fourth-place finishers at nationals are 11-8-2 overall.
