Call centres are equally rude

In response to Jeff Leggat's letter regarding the rudeness endured through his experience in the call centre industry, I find call centres to be very rude. Although I am a signatory to the no-call list, I continue to receive uninvited calls.

In response to Jeff Leggat's letter regarding the rudeness endured through his experience in the call centre industry, I find call centres to be very rude.

Although I am a signatory to the no-call list, I continue to receive uninvited calls. I recognize that these are employees trying to earn a living and that there are exceptions to the no-call list.

What I believe is very rude is the delay systems most of these centres use. Perhaps I am being petty but it is annoying and rude not to respond promptly to my hello, especially since the centre is soliciting me in my home. I have informed the many call centres that I do not accept delayed calls, but to no avail.

I believe we should object to this technologically-induced rudeness in our society. Sure it makes their job more efficient but at the cost of the consumer’s time.
