Criticism of Gazette insulted readers

In the July 27 edition, Morgan Luethe wrote a critical comment re: the Gazette. This, of course, is Morgan’s right. Doris Wrench Eisler’s letters seem to dominate the paper sometimes, but it turns out that I usually agree with her views.

My suggestion is that she be given a regular column and leave the letters space for folks like me, who have occasional items.

Morgan, however, continues in the letter to insult all readers of the Gazette in the final paragraph. If this were an episode of Corner Gas, I would spit, but of course that is unsanitary and probably illegal in the current St. Albert. The bylaw officers will probably begin to stake out my home.

After all, they will ticket me if I walk my dog without a visible pick-up bag, while numerous local and feral cats roam my back yard and watch my bird feeders. Fairness is not in the bylaw lexicon of this city.

I wonder if the cats would find the ducks in the ridiculous artwork by city hall delicious? Art in public places? Why not select works from any of the several very talented local artists?
