Cyclists should follow rules of the road

Recently I've been travelling down Villeneuve Road quite frequently and have come across an issue with the cyclists using this road.

I have no problems with them using the shoulders for riding/training but should they not do it in single file? The other day two cyclists were riding side-by-side (one on the shoulder, the other in the driving lane) near the Lone Pine Driving Range. I had to slow down to about 25 km/h when I could not pass the cyclist that was in my lane because of the oncoming traffic and the car behind me was not too happy that I slowed him down even though the speed limit was still 60 km/h.

This definitely had the potential for a serious accident whether with a car or the cyclist/cyclists. Please think and beware of what incidents that you could be causing when you ride side-by-side. Maybe it was only a single time this happened but it happened to me and could have caused serious injury.

Why not do what Walmart in Hinton does regarding plastic bags? For every 30 plastic bags you bring in, you get one of their reusable cloth bags. What a novel idea — recycling the plastic bags, getting something free and free advertising for Walmart.
