In response to Rick Sloan’s view published in the St. Albert Gazette re: Stephen Mandel (Your Views, Feb. 23):
Mr. Mandel filed his required financial forms over two weeks late – that is the reason for his being barred. He stated he had left the paperwork in the charge of the CFO, who was ill and missed the deadline.
In my opinion, if you are running for an election, maybe you’d want to take care of that responsibility yourself.
I have nothing against Mandel, but late filing of required forms should be penalized. And, rules are rules.
