Erin Ridge traffic calming goes too far

I am a very upset Erin Ridge resident.

I am a very upset Erin Ridge resident. Not only has the City of St. Albert messed up our Erin Ridge Drive with those cross walk "jet-outs" (NOT taking into consideration of what will happen come winter when grading the roads) but now they have added a raised crosswalk bump! There is no warning other than some white lines – AGAIN what will happen come winter when you can't see the lines because of snow? Does the city not know what this will do to ALL of our front end alignments in all the vehicles driving this roadway?

Honestly – vigilance is one thing but I feel the city is taking this way too far. Most days when I try and get anywhere now – driving down Erin Ridge Drive, people not only do 40 km per hour most of them are driving 30 to 35 km per hour! The only reason there have been a couple of "near misses" is because of all these "jet outs" and people are getting very frustrated trying to get out of Erin Ridge!

I am so damn upset I am moving out this area entirely and even maybe out of St. Albert! What about the rest of the people that live here? In addition – when using these crosswalks you MUST press the button and WAIT until the light starts flashing and wait until the way is clear. Most people push the button and step out – this is the problem with your "near misses"!

We in Erin Ridge are sick and tired of being picked on. And why is it Erin Ridge is the only area being picked on – why not the rest of St. Albert as well?
