Everyone knows about gas lines

It is a mystery to me — and it should be a mystery to everybody in St.

It is a mystery to me — and it should be a mystery to everybody in St. Albert — how the two major gas lines that run through the Riel Recreation Park site were an "unforeseen discovery" to our city's general manager of planning and engineering. And that "they were only discovered after the completion of detailed design."

"They only just found out about this," according to Neil Jamieson.

The Atco "High Pressure Gas Pipe Line" signs have always been out there — very clearly visible — for as long as I can remember, which is decades. It really puzzles me how city employees/planners/contractors could possibly have missed seeing them and now claim that they did not know about those gas lines running through there.

There are several of them out there, also through the bush, all of them very neatly and properly posted with those warning signs with usually two of them a few metres apart. Not just one, but two of them. There are also two red poles at either side of them in most places.

On top of that Atco has very good maps of all their lines and they are very easily available. You just have to ask for them.
