Just wanted to pass along a story to remind people of the importance of making sure that our beloved pets are securely fastened when riding in a vehicle.
We had a near accident this past weekend on the highway when the truck in front of us hit a deer. As my husband slammed on the brakes and swerved to avoid the animal lying in the middle of the road, our dog riding in the back seat thankfully had her seatbelt on. There is no question that without it she would probably have gone through the windshield or at the very least, have fallen on my husband and caused us to be in an accident as well.
It reminded me of how quick things like this can and do happen. Everybody loves their pets, so please make sure that you keep them safe too.
