Is it just me or does something stink about the new garbage recycling idea?
I currently pay $36.60 every two months for weekly pickup of two bags of garbage plus my recycling. There was no option about paying for recycling; it was automatic. Anything over two bags a week and you need to purchase extra garbage tags.
I am all for recycling, but with this new plan, pickup in the winter would be every two weeks and we would pay more for the service.
So then you’re paying more for less. That doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Property taxes in St. Albert are high and should take into account our garbage collection. Giving us less and charging us more is not acceptable.
Has any one else noticed the dumping of garbage around the city’s outskirts or offbeat areas? Keep upping the garbage rates and it will get worse.
City council best rethink this one in the best interests of the current taxpayers.
