River should be election issue

The Sturgeon River, as it runs through St. Albert, is badly in need of rejuvenation. There is no oxygen in the water, caused by the riverbanks falling into the water. Storm drains and old dumps seep into the water, among other garbage.

The City of St. Albert needs to dredge the river within the city. The city needs to reinforce the banks and control the water levels with the use of dams and water wells. In my opinion, the municipal electoral hopefuls should be publicly debating this issue right now.
