St. Albert's founders weren't rich

Chris and Karleena Perry’s letter of April 3 is so wrong on so many levels.

Chris and Karleena Perry’s letter of April 3 is so wrong on so many levels.

As a descendent of one of the earliest settlers of St Albert, Olivier Bellerose, (who, by the way, was not rich), I am horrified to think the world may view St Albert as a haven for the "elite."

The idea that some people are more deserving than others is preposterous. Since when did the rich deserve better schooling and community activities than the poor? Since when were drugs and crime solely caused by those among us with less money? Since when did some children become "high-standard" while others, apparently, are not? I can't believe the writer of this letter holds the opinion that some people have more value than others. If the attitude of the Perrys reflects the attitude of the majority in this town, then I think it's time for me to move! I'm embarrassed to be associated with this.
