Congratulations to St. Albert city council for designating St.

In response to Karen Paquette's letter in Your Views, dated Wednesday June 17, 2009. Karen, when you have a child it is your responsibility to protect it and teach appropriate behaviour.

This response is to the parent who feels that the farmers’ market is not family friendly. I would have to disagree with her opinion as my family has visited the market for years and has not had a problem.

Many letters have been written criticizing St. Albert’s bus system. Let’s face it — it’s not perfect. But our bus system does its best to accommodate all those who are going to work, the occasional riders and seniors.

I was quite appalled when I read a letter to the editor entitled, “Market not family friendly.

I have lived in St. Albert for approximately 24 years and love it here. It seems much more small town-ish than Edmonton and a good safe place to raise a family and grow old.

I submitted a note on the city’s website in regards to two trees that had blown down and were laying across the dirt paths beside the paved Red Willow trail system.

I am so sorry that you did not enjoy the farmers’ market. From your letter I must make a few logical deductions: you must live in a totally different locality that does not have outside airborne allergens.

The ongoing civil unrest in Iran over disputed presidential election results stand in sharp contrast to the laissez-faire attitude with which Canadians conduct themselves when voting time comes around.

It was only a matter of time before someone took on Hilary Clinton’s statement that it takes a village to raise a child. I suppose too it was inevitable it would be a politician who looked at the cost to the public purse of doing so.
